My latest painting is a still life that focuses on translucent objects, pearls, shadows, and fabric. The name of the painting is Blue Pearls. This painting took me six weeks to finish.
It took this long because I took much time creating objects in back of translucent objects and light that shined through translucent objects onto the shadow surface. Studying these subjects took as long as the actual painting process. At the end, I was quite satisfied with the result. If I had one thing to change, it would be the color of the background fabric, only in that it was difficult to put focus on the gold of the red glass angel ornament. I tried to deal with this by adding red and green color to the background fabric in all the areas that might need more offset from the gold in the foreground.
